Shoigu says that more than four thousand students were sent to the front

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Wednesday, December 19, at an extended meeting of the department’s board, that since the beginning of 2023, Russia has sent more than four thousand students to the war against Ukraine.

According to him, they “voluntarily took an academic leave and are performing combat tasks.” Shoigu noted that this year a total of 490,000 people went to the front on the basis of contracts and as volunteers. He stressed that more than 650,000 servicemen have already received combat experience in Ukraine.

… Today, the Russian army is the most trained and combat-ready army in the world, with advanced weapons tested in combat conditions.

It should be noted that from the beginning of 2023, military commissariats began to require graduating students to sign consent notices for military service until the end of the grace period.

Human rights defenders of the “Conscript School” have warned that it allows students to be drafted into the army before receiving an official diploma.

…They deceive eighteen-year-old boys who naturally do not understand the legal implications of such statements. They are forced to sign statements under various pretexts, incitement and threats.

It should be noted that this was stated by the head of the “Challenge School” Aleksey Tabalov.
