Shocking Toilet Incident: Thea’s Disgust and Joop’s Excuse on Lang Leve de Liefde

When Thea walks into the toilet, she is shocked by what she sees. “Gadverdamme. Gadver-the-gadver-the-gadver”, she exclaims. When she returns to Joop a little later, she decides to talk to him about her pot find. “I had to go to the toilet, but you left it very dirty.”

Joop seems a bit ashamed and wants to defend himself. “Oh no, oh. Dirty. But I had to go really fast…” Thea interrupts him: “No, nothing had to go really fast. When you’re on the toilet, you’re on the toilet, aren’t you. Yes.”

The viewers, who may or may not have watched with their plates on their laps on Wednesday evening, are also disgusted by the situation. “If my date leaves the toilet dirty, then it’s done,” someone concludes. Another viewer would have preferred not to see all this: ‘The thing about the toilet, they could have just cut that out, couldn’t they?’

When Joop asks Thea during a round of questions if she sees something blossoming between them, she has to laugh very hard. “Well, not much more than the flowers. The flowers on your shirt.” Whether it was due to Joop’s toilet behavior or not: it is no big surprise that after the first 24 hours they decide not to extend their date.

Joop is also not enthusiastic: “I’m looking for a woman who I want to eat up. (…) More intimacy and I’ve missed that from the start.” Thea, in turn, sees too many shortcomings: “I’m looking for someone who has a broader perspective and who can challenge me in knowledge I don’t have yet. I’m looking for a different type. At least HBO level or university. That suits me better .”
