We will witness shocking differences in temperatures in our country on Christmas Eve.
The lowest will fall to -14 °, and the highest will be + 13 °, according to Meteo Balkans.
The morning of December 24 will again be frosty with minimum temperatures from minus 13 ° to minus 4 °. In the morning it will be warmer only on the sea coast, where the temperatures will be between minus 3 ° С and minus 2 ° С, and the lowest will be in the mountainous areas and the closed valleys – to minus 11 – minus 14 °.
During the day on Friday it will be mostly cloudy in the country. We expect improvement in the afternoon, when the clouds from the northwest will gradually break and sunny weather will be established. A moderate and temporarily strong southwest wind will blow north of the mountains.
The prevailing minimum temperatures will increase and will be between plus 7 ° and plus 11 °, slightly higher in the Danube plain – up to 12-13 ° С.
In the mountains during the day the weather will be mostly sunny and suitable for winter sports, but it will remain windy, with the wind in more areas strong from the south-southwest.
In the next 48 hours, due to the forthcoming warming, a precondition for a very high avalanche danger will be created. Groundwater and river levels are also expected to rise.
In Sofia temperatures will again be relatively low – to minus 7-9 °. During the day until noon it will be mostly cloudy, but around noon and in the afternoon from the northwest the clouds will gradually break and decrease to sunny. No precipitation is expected. Maximum air temperatures will rise and will be between 4 ° -6 °.
In the morning, the levels of fine dust particles in the atmosphere will be elevated in mountainous areas and closed valleys. The concentration of harmful gases will be between 60-90µg / m3 at an average daily norm of 50 µg / m3.
