Beijing: As the number of Covid cases continues to rise, several videos are emerging from hospitals in China. Now a video is coming out of a doctor collapsing in his chair while treating patients. The video was published by The Telegraph. In another video, several Covid patients can be seen lying on the floor receiving CPR from automated machines and doctors. The incident occurred on December 14.
Patients queue at the hospital. In the video, the doctor examines each patient in turn. Suddenly the doctor slumps in his chair. The video also shows his colleagues lifting him off his chair. Meanwhile, staff are posting messages online asking those with mild symptoms to stay home as hospitals become overcrowded.
According to estimates, more than 60% of the Chinese population and 10% of the world’s population will likely be affected by Covid-19 in the next 90 days. After the lockdown was lifted in China last month, Covid cases have started to rise sharply. Even hospitals have no place for patients to sleep.
