The defendants in the murder case of lovebirds Handi Saputra (18) and Salsabila (14) in Nagreg, West Java, Colonel Inf Priyanto asked to be released from the demands of a life sentence while alluding to the merits he received. The military prosecutor mentioned the spirit of Sapta Marga Priyanto who had the heart to throw Handi and Salsa away.
Colonel Priyanto regrets his actions in the murder case of lovebirds Handi Saputra and Salsabila. Priyanto admitted that his actions had damaged TNI institutions, particularly the Army.
“And so far I haven’t had the chance to apologize to the victim’s family. Until now, I’m trying to apologize to the victim’s family,” said Priyanto in the trial after the pleidoi reading, Tuesday (10/5), at the East Jakarta High Military Court II. .
“So I want to express my deepest apologies and it is a very deep regret and we ask that Your Majesty can see from what we did that it was very, very stupid,” he continued.
During the reading of the pleadings, Colonel Priyanto’s legal adviser, Lt. Aleksander Sitepu, asked the panel of judges to consider several things. One of them is the Satya Lencana Loyalty and Satya Lencana Seroja services that Priyanto received.
“The defendant has received the Satya Lencana Loyalty certificate for 8 years, 16 years, 24 years, and the Satya Lencana Seroja,” explained Aleksander.
Aleksander also said that Priyanto had participated in carrying out operations in Timor-Timor and during the trial, Priyanto was polite. These, said Aleksander, are things that the judge can consider in deciding his client’s case.
“The defendant once risked his body and soul for the Republic of Indonesia to carry out operational duties in Timor-Timor,” said Aleksander.

The Prosecutor Still Demands for Life Bui
Military prosecutors continue to demand Colonel Inf Priyanto in prison for life in the murder case of the couple Handi Saputra and Salsabila. The prosecutor remained in his position even though Priyanto asked to be released.
“The high military prosecutor is of the opinion that there is no mistake in proving the elements and applying the law in our demands, so the high military prosecutor will stick to the demands that were read out on Thursday, April 21, 2022,” said military prosecutor Colonel Sus Wirdel Boy while reading the replica at the Military Court. Wirdel Boy denied that the indictment he had prepared was wrong. He said the indictment was in accordance with the provisions and the method of taking legal evidence as regulated in the legislation.
