The ninth session in the trial of the Egyptian woman accused of killing her child, dismembering his body, and eating some of it witnessed a new development.
Today, Saturday, the Zagazig Criminal Court in the Sharkia Governorate in Egypt heard the case, where the five-member committee consisting of psychiatry professors at the Universities of Zagazig and Mansoura, charged with examining the accused, confirmed that she did not evade during her debate or testimonies and is not suffering from madness or claiming or claiming that.
“Magic and quackery”
In a previous session, the accused claimed that she was exposed to witchcraft behind her committing the heinous crime, confirming in fact that she was not sick.
The accused mother, Hanaa Muhammad Hassan, said before the court that she does not suffer from insanity or epilepsy, but rather suffers from acts of witchcraft and quackery.
“I killed him to get rid of suspicious things.”
She also added that one of the sheikhs assured her that she had been subjected to witchcraft and that she had to do anything to break it and get rid of it, adding that she killed her child in order to get rid of some of the strange and suspicious things that she was suffering from, and she felt relief after killing her child and cooking him.
The security services in the Al-Sharqiya Security Directorate had received a notification stating that a report had been received about the arrest of a housewife named “Hanaa M.H.”, aged 30 years. She is accused of killing her child, “Saad M.S.”, in her home in the village of Abu Shalabi, affiliated with the Faqus Center.
Separated from her husband
Initial investigations revealed that the woman had been separated from her husband for 3 years, and that she had killed her 5-year-old child inside the house in the Faqus Center district, while the accused mother was arrested and kept at the disposal of the Public Prosecution, which was notified to initiate the investigation, and the Public Prosecution authorized the burial of the body after The necessary legal procedures were completed, and the accused mother was ordered to be detained pending investigation.
Details of the crime
The referral order stated: “The accused had resolved and intended to kill her victimized child due to her desire to have control over him and her fear that her ex-husband would keep him away from her. She prepared for this an ax stick that was in her residence, closed its outlets, and was alone with the victim, taking advantage of his reassurance of her and his tranquility in her presence, so she neglected him and attacked him.” He was hit in the head with three blows with a stick, intending to take his life, causing the injury described in the anatomical report that claimed his life.
In order to hide the trace of her crime and so that her crime would not be exposed, she cut his body into pieces, removed the flesh from the bones, and melted the entrails and some of the body parts by cooking them to hide their features. Before her family caught her red-handed, she collected the remaining body parts and bones and hid them in a bucket until her crime was discovered as stated in the investigation.
