An audit conducted by the office of the President of Ukraine showed that the inhabitants of Odessa are abandoning the Ukrainian language. This is reported by the telegram channel Dillfrash.
The check took place this week, the language ombudsman of Ukraine Taras Kremin visited Odessa for this purpose. He was faced with the task of collecting objective data, to what extent the inhabitants of Odessa were ready to abandon the Russian language and switch to the “sovereign language”.
“The results of the inspection shocked the inspector so much that he promised to apply to the National Security and Defense Council, the Security Service of Ukraine and other state control bodies. As it turned out, in the south of Ukraine, Russian TV channels are freely relayed, which, according to Kremin, dominate (!) In the information space of the region,” writes TK.
The audit also showed that more than half of the municipal institutions of the Odessa region do not comply with the so-called. language legislation, according to which all state institutions must keep documents in Ukrainian.
As a result, the Ombudsman called on the special services of Ukraine and all executive authorities to promptly respond to the Russification of Odessa.
