Shocked Proper substituted early in easy victory for the Dutch U21s

Jong Oranje won without too much trouble on Thursday evening against their peers from North Macedonia. In Almere it was 5-0 for the men in Oranje. Dirk Proper played the first half, but was slightly injured.

Proper is one of the players in the selection with the most international matches for Jong Oranje. The NEC player played in midfield together with Youri Regeer (FC Twente) and Antoni Milambo (Feyenoord). As a controller, Proper made a good impression, but just before half-time he indicated that he was having some trouble. At that time, Jong Oranje was already 2-0 up, after which national coach Michael Reiziger decided to replace him with Anass Salah-Eddine (FC Twente).

Roefs on the stands

Robin Roefs was not in the selection of Reiziger. AZ’er Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro is preferred as first keeper. Roefs and Calvin Raatsie (Excelsior) alternate as second keeper. Next Monday the young NEC’er will be on the bench against his peers from Georgia.

Former NEC players Youri Baas and Ibrahim Cissoko were also present in Almere. Baas had to come on as a substitute in the first half after Finn van Breemen was absent. Cissoko remained on the bench for the entire match. The goals for Jong Oranje were scored by Regeer (twice), Noah Ohio and Million Manhoef (twice).
