Slovenian epidemiologist and head of the pandemic advisory group Mateja Logar said it had been noticed that there were more and more people in Slovenia who wanted to deliberately become infected with the coronavirus in order to move and travel more easily due to the fact that those who have survived the virus, have the same immunity as that acquired through vaccination, writes the Skopje newspaper “Independent”, quoted by “Focus”.
“We see a growing trend in the number of people who want to get infected as soon as possible to ensure that this will allow them to travel and cross borders more easily, which is a dangerous practice that we cannot recommend.” Logar told a news conference.
According to her, therefore, restrictions are being considered, ie. changes in travel rules, but also the possibility of removing coronavirus patients from the list of people who should not be tested when crossing the border.
The Slovenian authorities explicitly warn that with the increase in the percentage of vaccinated, a certificate of Covid-19 will not be issued and people without immunization will not be able to benefit from the benefits of owning one.
“We still don’t know much about this disease. It is unpredictable and can have lasting consequences. “We don’t know exactly what the long-term consequences of this disease are, especially in younger patients,” Logar said.
Slovenia is coping better with the pandemic than other countries in the Western Balkans. 1279 people are newly infected, according to data for Monday, only three people died with coronavirus.
