Shock in Paris! Gauff started crying during the match

On Tuesday, a huge sensation took place on the courts of Roland Garros in Paris. Coco Gauff, who, alongside Iga Światek, enjoyed the highest seeding in the tournament ladder, said goodbye to the Olympic competition in singles. On Tuesday, however, she was no match for Donna Vekić. After exactly two hours, she lost 6:7 (7), 2:6.

Gauff couldn’t handle the pressure. It’s the end of her dreams of a medal in singles. Åšwiatek loses her rival

Initially, everything went according to Gauff’s plan, who was already leading 4:1 in the first set. However, Vekić managed to make up for the loss and equalize to 5:5, and then force a tie-break. In this one, the competition was very even and it was necessary to play for advantage. In the end, Vekić coped better with the pressure, winning 9:7.

The second set completely destroyed the American. From the score of 2:2 she was unable to win even one game. After Vekić broke for 4:2, there were shocking scenes. The 20-year-old did not agree with the decision to award the point to the Croatian. She approached the judge’s desk and began to argue. However, she remained unmoved. At one point, tears appeared in Gauff’s eyes. We could see similar pictures in the semi-finals of Roland Garros, when the world’s second racket lost to Iga Âwi±tek.

For Gauff, this is not the end of her participation in the Paris Games. She still has to compete in doubles, where on Wednesday in the second round, together with Jessica Pegula, she will play in the second round against the Czech duo Karolina Muchova – Linda Noskova. On Tuesday, together with Taylor Fritz, she will play in the first round of mixed doubles. In the singles competition, Vekić is happy about advancing to the quarterfinals, where she is already waiting for the winner of the pair Maria Sakkari – Marta Kostiuk.
