A family from Rosario who lived several years ago in the city of Casilda, lost their lives on Saturday after being involved in a shocking road accident on Provincial Route 41, near the Buenos Aires town of San Miguel del Monte, when they were returning from vacation in the Atlantic Coast.
As a consequence of the violent episode, the couple made up of Fiama Castiglioni and Federico Benvenutto, and their children Giovanni, six years old, and Martina, three. The family was traveling in a Peugeot 408 car and collided head-on with a Mercedes Benz Sprinter van.
Federico Benvenutto was a lawyer and a professor at the Sagrada Familia School in Casilda, and his wife Fiama Castiglioni was a catechism teacher at the Misericordia School in Casilda, and was studying to become a Primary Education teacher at the Manuel Leiva Higher Teachers Institute No. 1, in the same town.
The couple and their eldest son died at the scene of the road accident, while the three-year-old girl lost her life after being taken to a hospital in critical condition due to the severe multiple injuries she suffered..
