From 1992 to 2019, Pakistan has not been able to beat India even once in the World Cup. There was no India-Pakistan match in the 2007 World Cup.
The last time Pakistan lost to India in the 50-over World Cup was in the 2019 World Cup. India won the match by 89 runs at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
After losing the toss and batting in the match, India scored 336 runs for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated over. Rohit Sharma’s century (140) and Virat Kohli’s (77), K.L. Rahul and half-centuries gave India the best score.
Batting in reply, Pakistan were 212 for six in 40 overs when the match was interrupted due to bad weather and India would have won by 89 runs through the DLS method.
The cricketing world is all set to witness the best rivalry the cricketing world has ever seen on Saturday. As Akhtar said, Indian fans firmly believe that history will repeat itself.
