Indian PM Modi’s Address to Parliament: A Blueprint for Growth
In a significant address to India’s Lok Sabha (lower house of parliament), Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined a comprehensive vision for the nation’s future. The speech, lasting over 90 minutes, focused on 11 key action points designed to propel India’s economic growth. According to BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, the address provided crucial guidance for all members of parliament.
“PM Modi spoke to all the members of Parliament in the Lok Sabha for more than 1.5 hours. He talked about 11 action points that we have to work on in the days to come. This was a vrey enlightening speech. It was a kind of guidance for all of us,” Sarangi stated. She further emphasized the speech’s broader context, noting the preceding two days of constitutional debates.
The timing of the speech is noteworthy, coming after extensive parliamentary discussions on the Indian Constitution, adopted on November 26,1949. Sarangi highlighted the Constitution’s enduring importance, describing it as “the lighthouse” guiding India’s progress. the Prime Minister’s address, she explained, provided a roadmap for the nation’s future, transcending partisan politics.
“As you know,we were talking about the Constitution for 2 days. We had debates on the Constitution and many of the MPs gave their views on the Indian Constitution that was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on november 26,1949 and as then, till now,the Indian Constitution has been the lighthouse,” Sarangi explained.“I can only say that the Prime Minister of the contry gave a direction, gave a path for all of us to follow and this direction, this path was not for the members of the NDA only. The Prime Minister is the Prime Minister of the entire country. So when he spoke, whatever he said, whatever directions he gave, these directions were meant for all the members of parliament from all across the political parties. The only goal that Prime Minister said we had was to follow the provisions of the Constitution and to see that we emerge as one of the fastest growing economy…,” she added.
The 11-point plan, while not detailed in Sarangi’s comments, is expected to address key areas of India’s economy and infrastructure. Analysts anticipate the plan will be closely scrutinized by international investors and economists, given India’s growing global influence and its potential to become one of the world’s leading economies. The speech’s emphasis on constitutional adherence underscores the government’s commitment to democratic principles and the rule of law, a factor that resonates with international observers.
The implications of Modi’s address extend beyond India’s borders. as a major player in the global economy, India’s economic trajectory directly impacts international trade and investment. the success of Modi’s 11-point plan could have significant ripple effects on global markets and international relations. The focus on constitutional principles also reinforces India’s commitment to democratic governance, a model often cited as a contrast to other global powers.
