Gronkh has said he doesn’t care about JK Rowling. Some find the Youtuber’s statement ignorant and anti-trans.

YouTuber Gronkh commented on the Harry Potter author because he might be playing the “Hogwarts Legacy” game that will be released in a few days. But: Rowling has been getting more criticism lately. The creator of the Harry Potter world has said anti-trans things in the past. For example, Rowling suspected trans women of harassing other women if everyone is allowed to change in the same changing rooms.

What does Gronkh have to do with this?

On the stream, Gronkh said he “just doesn’t care” about the author. Because he is not clearly against Rowling and her statements, he is now accused of acting transphobic.

Gronkh acts transphobic by openly saying he doesn’t care about JKR. That can exist alongside his commitment and doesn’t outweigh it. But the latter doesn’t make it any better. Sorry, this isn’t a sale of indulgences.

But there are also many voices on social media who find the criticism of Gronkh completely wrong and exaggerated, especially since the YouTuber is considering donating income from the possible “Hogwarts Legacy” streams:

A man who has been streaming or making videos every day for 10 years and has never made a false statement before simply says that he wants to stay out of it and is now canceled because of it. Welcome to Germany where breathing is a punishment Embarrassing how Gronkh gets dragged into it.
