In a concert of solidarity and support of the campaign for justice for the victims of the criminal shipwreck of Pylos are calling on Sunday, May 12, at 7 p.m., survivors and relatives of the victims, people of letters and arts, the Pakistani Community of Greece “Unity” and KEERFA, with central slogans “It was a crime, it was murder, drowning of the 600 refugees in Pylos”, “Acquittal of the 9 refugees in the 21/5 trial”.
In the concert that will take place at the basketball courts in Roof (Piraeus 144 and Petrou Ralli) with an entrance fee of 10 euros, the artists who have announced their participation so far are: Frank Panx, Phoivos Delivorias, Alex Kalofolias, Stournari street band, Valvolini, Natalia Rasouli , Vailis Rallis, Giorgos Fasolis, Wing 3, The screaming Fly, Damage done, Toxic waste, Maria Papageorgiou. The concert is curated by Hara Eudaimon. Brain Mince Design contributed to the artwork with the sketch of a guitar that saves the doomed ship.
The event will be attended by Magda Fyssa, Yiannis Maggos and rescuer Jason Apostolopoulos. The voice of survivors will be heard loudly, but also for the first time the voice of mothers, children and other relatives of the shipwrecked.
The actions include a rally in Athens at the Syntagma on May 20 and participation on May 21 in the mobilization outside the Kalamata courts, where 9 surviving refugees are on trial on charges of trafficking and causing a shipwreck. “This is a method of covering up the crime and placing the blame on the victims themselves”, underlines KEERFA.
The campaign will culminate on June 14, when it is one year since the criminal wreck, with a rally in Athens and other cities and with mobilizations in cities across Europe (London, Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen, Warsaw, Nicosia, etc.). ). On June 15, a concert and march is organized in Kalamata at the initiative of the Anti-Fascist Movement of Kalamata.
