On Thursday evening at 6:25 p.m., a large motor cargo ship on the Main, which at that time was between the Sebastian-Kneipp-Steg and the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke, was pelted with stones by unknown persons. The ship drove towards Randersacker and was pelted with stones by at least three people who were on the right bank of the river. The patrol of the Würzburg water police, who arrived a short time later, no longer found the people concerned. it says in the police report. Fortunately, the stones only hit the ship’s side and the hatch covers, so that no people were injured.
The officer in charge of the waterway police is investigating the dangerous intrusion into shipping traffic and is looking for witnesses who can give clues about the identity of the stone throwers.
