Shinhan Investment & Securities Reports 10.71% High-Risk Portfolio Return Rate in 6 Months

Recorded 10.71% annualized rate of return for customers who selected high-risk portfolios within 6 months of implementation of the system

Shinhan Investment & Securities announced on the 10th that it analyzed the six-month return rate of its customers who designated the management method after the first introduction last year ahead of the full-scale implementation of the default option on the 12th.

In Shinhan Investment & Securities, after the initial setting of the default option product in December 2022 of last year, the return rate of customers who chose high-risk portfolios until June 30, 2023 was found to be relatively high. High-risk portfolio No. 1 recorded an annualized return of 10.71% during the analysis period after it was first established on December 7, 2022.

This is a result consistent with the purpose of introducing the system to increase the rate of return by operating funds left as principal and interest guaranteed products or cash equivalents as pre-designated products at approximately twice the interest rate of principal and interest guaranteed products (bank time deposits, etc.) sold during the same period. .

Meanwhile, about 69% of default option subscribers are male, and by age group, those in their 40s accounted for the most with 32% of all subscribers. In addition, about 48% of all subscribers designated an ultra-low-risk term deposit portfolio. About 46% of those in their 40s chose this portfolio, while about 52% of those in their 60s or older chose this portfolio, which is above the average, and the older the age group, the more preferred safe assets.

In addition, about 8% of male subscribers chose High-Risk Portfolio No. 1, while about 4% of female subscribers chose the portfolio, indicating that male subscribers had a higher risk preference in designating default option products.

Shinhan Investment & Securities is preparing a portfolio tailored to various customer needs by configuring all 10 types of default option products, including high-risk, medium-risk, and low-risk, ahead of the full-scale implementation of the default option on the 12th of this month.
