Shin Tae-yong Wants to Bring Jordi Amat & Sandy Walsh to Asian Cup Qualifiers

Jakarta

Trainer Indonesian National team Shin Tae-yong want to include Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh from 2023 Asian Cup Qualification. Both are expected to become Indonesian citizens.

Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh completed various naturalization processes in Jakarta last week. The two of them had many agendas, from medical tests to interviews with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).

Currently, the naturalization process is believed to have entered the final stage. Shin Tae-yong also wants both of them to strengthen the Indonesian national team in the near future.

The Indonesian national team will host Bangladesh at the Si Starling Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, Wednesday (1/6/2022). Then play in the Asian Cup Qualifiers on June 8-14.

“When I returned home from Vietnam (SEA Games 2021), I spoke with the Minister of Youth and Sports (Zainudin Amali) about naturalization,” said SHin Tae-yong, Thursday (26/5/2022).

“When I arrived in Indonesia, I also spoke with the chairman of PSSI (Mochamad Iriawan), so both of them wanted to help make the process faster. So in Plan A I did have naturalized players (in the Asian Cup Qualifiers), I asked the government to help speed up the process,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sandy Walsh is currently reportedly still in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Jordi Amat called PSSI immediately left Indonesia after undergoing the naturalization process.

But the media crew caught Jordi Amat already in Jakarta again. He was seen chatting with Shin Tae-yong at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, after the Indonesian national team practice.

“If possible, I want them to be able to participate in training together with the national team (even if naturalization has not been completed). But the team still has to make careful preparations even though they are not there. It must be as much as possible,” said Shin Tae-yong.
