Indonesia faced Myanmar in the last matchday of Group A at Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho, Vietnam, Sunday (15/5/2022) afternoon WIB. Young Garuda won 3-1.

Indonesia actually just needs a draw to be able to secure a ticket to the semifinals. Because he was able to win, Shin Tae-yong praised his players for working hard and not playing safe according to instructions.
“We actually only need a draw against Myanmar to qualify for the semifinals as runners-up in Group A. However, I emphasize to the players, a match like this will be even more difficult for us,” said Shin Tae-yong after the match.

Indonesia had to settle for being the runner-up because Vietnam was able to win against Timor Leste. Indonesia is in second place in Group A with nine points and Vietnam has 10 points.
“When we played against the Philippines, we saw that their players had tall stature but they were a bit late in turning the body, so I took advantage of the empty space at the back, and that’s what allowed us to win with a big score,” Shin Tae-yong emphasized.
Vietnam and Indonesia are just waiting for the opponents from Group B, which until now there is no certainty who will win the group. So far Malaysia is at the top of the standings with seven points and has already pocketed a ticket to the semifinals.
Thailand is in second place with six points and could still be eliminated if they lose in the last match and Cambodia, who is in fourth place with three points, won by a landslide against Malaysia.
Singapore is third with five points. They have certainly been eliminated because there are no more group stage matches to be lived.
