Jakarta –
Shin Tae-yong asked his son, Shin Jae-hyuk, to learn from Asnawi Mangkualam. The two will now become teammates after Shin Jae-hyuk was recruited by Ansan Greeners.
According to Korean media Sport Chosun, Shin Jae-hyuk joined Ansan as of July 19, 2021. His recruitment from Konkuk University is said to be purely because of the player’s abilities, not because of the legendary status of his father, Shin Tae-yong.
Ansan also became Shin Jae-hyuk’s first professional club which previously still played at the university level competition level. In Ansan, Shin Jae-hyuk was advised to learn from Asnawi, his senior who had previously played for the K League 2 club.
“Dad (Shin Tae-yong) once talked about Asnawi when at home. He said, I have to play as active as Asnawi. I have to play like Asnawi even though I’m still young. I have to see and learn from him,” said Shin Jae-hyuk quoted by Sport Chosun.
Asnawi is my favorite player Shin Tae-yong. Since seeing the game in early 2020, Shin Tae-yong is immediately excited.
When Asnawi’s agent sent a CV to Ansan, Shin Tae-yong also gave his support. It was thanks to Shin Tae-yong’s recommendation that Ansan then received Asnawi’s CV and recruited him.
Together with Ansan, Asnawi’s career is going well. As long as you are fit, Asnawi always installed as the main player. Therefore, Shin Tae-yong asked his son to follow the example of Asnawi, who had already proven himself with Ansan.
Meanwhile, Shin Jae-hyuk has been familiar with football since childhood. His older brother, Shin Jae-won, has already become a professional player and is now listed as a player for FC Seoul, a K League 1 club.
Shin Jae-hyuk is a living witness of gait Shin Tae-yong in football. He was also brought to Australia when Shin Tae-yong strengthened Queensland Roar as a player and then assistant coach, around 2005-2008.
“When I returned to Korea and became a college player, I always thought to do my best. My father has his own life, I also have to be maximal with the aim of showing the best ability,” said the 20-year-old player.
