Shin Megami Tensei 5 arrive en 2021

Shin Megami Tensei is here! It will hurt, it will hit the brawl. We have been waiting since 2017 and after almost 4 years of intense submarine without any info (to the point that fans imagined the title canceled) the license is sticking its head out of the water.

For those in the background I do a brief reminder. Shin Megami tensei, said SMT for close friends, is a Japanese RPG saga which will soon be celebrating its 30th anniversary. Yes 30 years, the first opus dates from the NES! Yes it dates.

Imagined from the novels of Aya Nishitani, the saga has a cult aura in the archipelago but much less in the West where its spin-off, it has clearly been emulated to the point of supplanting its big brother in the minds. Because it is from SMT that the Persona license originally derives! Incredible therefore to see come back in force a saga which has spun enough parallel series to exceed Final Fantasy of Dragon Quest reunited, to rise from the dead to finally give news.

Already a little treat, Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne (originally with us on PS2 under the title Lucifer’s Call), is announced in HD Remaster on Switch in spring 2021!

But the real announcement is the global release date of Shin Megami Tensei V set in 2021. We are also entitled to a trailer that reveals a little of the game. We are reassured to find the demonic and apocalyptic aesthetic of the previous games . On the other hand, it does not give any info on the plot, the name of the character or the gameplay. But with a little patience, we’ll find out everything ASAP (and we’ll be here to tell you about it).

If you are used to the Persona license, tell yourself that you haven’t seen anything because Shin Megami Tensei is a real Hardcore RPG with incomparable difficulty. If you are already struggling with Atlus’ flagship license, tell yourself that there is a hell of a challenge here. Tell us in the comments if you will try it!
