Jakarta –
Leaks about iPhone 14 began to circulate even though the launch is still a few months away. The latest news that Apple will present a more sophisticated front camera for the iPhone 14.
This news came from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo via his Twitter post. Kuo said the front camera on the iPhone 14 series will get an upgrade in the form of autofocus and a larger aperture.
Unlike the fixed-focus camera on the iPhone today, the main camera with autofocus can allow the iPhone 14 to take clearer photos wherever the user is. In addition, autofocus will also improve the experience when using FaceTime or video calls.
Meanwhile, the front camera opening of the iPhone 14 will be wider, namely f/1.9. For comparison, the front camera of the iPhone 13 series has an aperture of f/2.2.
Kuo says the larger aperture allows more light to enter the lens and reach the front camera sensor iPhone 14. As a result, this update will produce a better depth-of-field effect for photos and videos in Portrait Mode, as quoted from MacRumors, Wednesday (20/4/2022).
The front camera with autofocus itself is a feature that is still rarely found in flagship phones. One of the mobile phone vendors who have used this feature is Samsung, including the front camera used by the Galaxy S22.
Apple itself is rumored to be eliminating the notch on the iPhone 14 Pro and replacing it with a punch-hole design. Maybe Apple will learn from Samsung to fit the new front camera in a smaller space.
In his tweet, Kuo said the updated front camera will be present in four iPhone 14 models, indicating that this feature will not be a major selling point for the iPhone 14 Pro alone.
This is certainly good news for all Apple fanboys, considering there are rumors that only the iPhone 14 Pro will get an increase in specifications such as the A16 Bionic chipset and a larger rear camera.
Kuo previously claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will carry a 48 MP main camera camera, a significant improvement over the iPhone 13 Pro series. This camera will allow video recording up to 8K, up from the 4K video currently offered.
Apple is predicted to announce iPhone 14iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max in September.
