Fallon Sherrock reached the second round of the Nordic Darts Masters on Friday, but it was not very convincing against Darius Labanauskas (6-1).
The ‘Queen of the Palace’ threw an average of just 80. The 27-year-old Englishman was very lucky that her opponent Labanauskas, quarter-finalist at the 2020 World Darts Championship, was even worse with an average of 76.
”At the beginning of the match, I was still thinking too much about last week”, Sherrock told Online Darts after her match against Labanauskas. “I wanted so badly to show a better game. As soon as I prevented 3-0 or 4-0 I started throwing with more relaxation.”
Sherrock lost 6-2 to Leonard Gates in the first round of the US Darts Masters last week. Then she got no further than an average of just 71.
“That hurt a lot, because I never played that bad. Certainly not on television. I was even ashamed of the way I had played. My preparation for that tournament was not good and I rectified that this week. Hopefully this win gives me a little more confidence.”
