Shenzhou-16 crew members successfully cultivated and harvested vegetables on the Tiangong space station.

The “space garden” they used is a modular, open structure designed by researchers from the China Astronaut Research and Training Center.

These devices can adjust temperature, humidity, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels to create the environment needed for plant growth.

This also allows astronauts to care for plants at any time.
