Beijing (ANTARA) – The Shenzhou-16 astronauts, namely Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu, and Gui Haichao, delivered their fourth lecture to students on Earth via live online broadcast (livestream) from the Chinese space station, on Thursday (21/9) afternoon local time.
This is the first science lecture delivered from the Mengtian laboratory module on the Tiangong space station, and the fourth lecture in the “Tiangong Class” series.

During the 48-minute lecture, the astronauts introduced their work atmosphere and life in the Mengtian laboratory module.
They also demonstrated various interesting experiments in the microgravity environment, such as spherical flame experiments and metal gyroscopes, as well as experiments that demonstrated the law of momentum conservation. They also explain the scientific principles of the experiment.
A total of five classes were opened on Bumi, one of which was at Beihang University in Beijing. Around 2,800 students attend lectures in these classes.
During the lectures delivered via livestream, the astronauts interacted with students in classes on Earth.
According to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA), in the future there will be more and more lectures delivered from space during the implementation and development stages of China’s space station.
As China’s national space laboratory, the Tiangong space station plays an important role in science education and popularization.
The crew of the Shenzhou-13 and Shenzhou-14 astronauts previously gave three “Tiangong Class” lectures, which received rave reviews.
