In China, the omikron variant of the coronavirus is advancing further and further. Yesterday, the city of Shenzhen, a major engine of the Chinese economy with 17.5 million inhabitants, was placed in a lockdown. Factories of tech giants such as Foxconn (iPhone), Huawei and Tencent are shut down. Lockdowns and other strict restrictions have also been enacted elsewhere in China.
