[Sing Tao Daily Report]The Port Bureau of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government announced today (11) evening that from 0:00 tomorrow (12), the cross-border truck transportation between Guangdong and Hong Kong will be adjusted to a “point-mode of transport “to -point” and cross-border drivers must not be in designated places. To deliver the goods, you can directly pick up and deliver the goods from point to point. Before entering Guangdong, cross-border drivers must make an appointment and declare information on the entry operation through the “Cross-border security” system.

A spokesman for the Bureau of Transportation and Logistics said today (11) that in order to promote the import and export of cargo logistics in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which is beneficial to the development social and economic situation of Guangdong and Hong Kong, after close communication between the governments of Guangdong and Hong Kong, the two sides agreed that the cross-border truck mode of transport needs to be optimized and adapted.

From 00:00 tomorrow (12), the cross-border truck transport between Guangdong and Hong Kong will be adapted to a “point-to-point” mode of transport. Cross-border lorry drivers can go directly to the operating point to collect or deliver goods in a “point-to-point” manner. There are no quotas for this deal, you just need to make an appointment and declare in advance via the “Cross Border Security” system. The Transportation Department will also continue to conduct rapid nucleic acid tests for cross-border truck drivers at Hong Kong ports. Drivers with negative results can only enter the mainland with a negative nucleic acid certificate within 48 hours on the “Health Code of Guangdong”. The Transportation Department also notified the cross-border freight industry of the details of the above measures. Guangdong and Hong Kong will continue to strictly implement anti-epidemic measures to reduce the risk of the epidemic spreading.

The SAR Government is very grateful to the Central Government, Guangdong Province and Shenzhen Municipal Government for their sympathy for the needs of Hong Kong society and people’s livelihood, and continued to ensure stable and sufficient supply of supplies in Hong Kong during the implementation of various epidemic prevention and control measures.

The governments of Guangdong and Hong Kong will continue to work closely together, closely monitor and timely review the cross-border truck transport arrangements, to ensure smooth cross-border land transport, ensure the stability of supplies to Hong Kong, and resume normal logistics operations.
