Among the wounded from today’s Russian attack on Odesa is Serhiy Kivalov, a former People’s Deputy and rector of the National University “Odesa Law Academy” (NO “OJU”).

Who is Serhii Kivalov?
Kivalov was elected as a People’s Deputy of Ukraine six times, headed the “Ukrainian Maritime Party”. In 2020, he ran for the post of mayor of Odesa, in the election campaign he promised to protect the Russian-speaking population.
In 2004, during the presidential elections, he headed the Central Election Commission.

On January 16, 2014, he voted for the “dictatorship laws” – a package of anti-democratic laws that significantly limited citizens’ rights and freedom of speech.
