Sheinbaum will seek consensus to establish a 40-hour work day

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo insisted this Thursday that she trusts that her government will make the proposal to reduce the working day from 48 to 40 hours a week a reality, and assured that progress will be made gradually and seeking consensus with workers and businessmen. .

In his press conference at the National Palace, he highlighted that the labor progress achieved by the government of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was “very good for the country.”

“We worked in consensus with employers, which is expected to continue now to resolve the issue of the 40-hour work week in Mexico,” he added.

“What do we propose? Let it be by consensus, that’s why I put it gradually. “That we sit down with businessmen, with the representation of workers and that the minimum wage continue to increase,” continued the head of the Executive.

On the other hand, Sheinbaum Pardo said that his government is working to prevent tax evasion.

He added that during his mandate “there will be no tax remission, this is in the Constitution.”

“I have been working since even before I entered, with the consent of President López Obrador at the time, with the SAT, and we are working with the Financial Intelligence Unit, where Pablo Gómez stays, because we all have to pay taxes, that’s what that the Constitution establishes, and many of them are criminal offenses,” he said.
