The Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that the scheme is being sought so that, in a voluntary and formal way, public officials can donate salary and bonuses so they can help cope with the health contingency for the coronavirus Covid-19.
He added that the resources will be used for the purchase of supplies and the hiring of doctors.
He stated that so far they have collected a bag of 50 million pesos that it foresees that it could increase up to 100 million pesos.
He clarified that these resources could be for a foundation that also helps in this situation.
“It is probable (to withdraw) the Christmas bonus, but at the moment what is 100% certain is that the Head of Government donates two months of her salary, I am going to sign it and it is a voluntary matter. After I made the call, practically all the secretaries and secretaries and a good part of the CEOs said that they were willing to donate a month. ”

In a virtual press conference, he assured that these donations by high government officials will be voluntary, and that it will not be obligatory or by decree for them to join the cause.
“We have to be supportive to contribute some of our income and hire the doctors who are going to be helping us in this period,” he said.
On April 4, the capital’s president announced that she will donate two full months of her salary, which is equivalent to 156 thousand 728 pesos, which will be used to hire medical personnel during the coronavirus epidemic.
