Sheinbaum rules out that violence affects the economy

Mexico City. President Claudia Sheinbaum dismissed versions that suggest that the violence in Mexico will affect the economy, because the country is economically solid. At the same time, he estimated that the National Security Strategy will give results, although this will not happen overnight, while denouncing that the weapons used during the confrontation in Tecpan come from the United States.

In his conference, he said that since the six-year term of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the homicide trend in Mexico has changed, which is very important because it is not the same that murders have an upward trend than a downward trend. That was the debate during the last six-year term, but with the strategy, he said, the reduction of violence will continue.

He considered that sometimes only homicides are reported without considering arrests or drug seizures. In this context, he questioned the “hypocrisy” of the PAN leader, Marko Cortés, who spoke out for spreading violence in Mexico to the world. He considered that it is a position similar to that of the conservatives of the 19th century when they went to bring Maximilian.

“There is a lot of hypocrisy, in general conservatism is very hypocritical, they didn’t say anything about García Luna and they say that now there is narcoterrorismwe would have to read what that means in national and international legislation. They say it because what they are looking for is intervention. His lack of love for Mexico is that big.”

He asserted that his government has a strategy that will work with attention to the causes and reduce impunity as the main axes, but they are fighting because some claim Genaro García Luna and others do not resolve their internal problems. Attending to causes means contributing to humble people.
