President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo questioned former president Felipe Calderón, who recently stated on social networks that his government did confront organized crime.
“In two days they will hand down a sentence (in the United States) to their Secretary of Security (Genaro García Luna) for collusion with drug trafficking. Let’s see explain that to me, at the very least it’s cynicism, right? The truth,” he emphasized this morning in his conference at the National Palace.
When asked about a recent survey in which the majority of respondents gave her their confidence, the federal president stated that her opponents have not understood that the majority of the people of Mexico want the fourth transformation to continue.
“Always thank the people of Mexico for their trust. And to say that we are not going to fail, that we are going to work as much as necessary, triple, quadruple to be able to fulfill our commitments.”
He insisted that the majority of people in the country are happy with the fourth transformation. “That is something that the adversaries have not been able to understand.”
He exemplified that like Calderón, many, practically the same ones who criticized former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, “are the critics of now.
“The problem is that they have not understood that the country has changed; that the people of Mexico want the transformation to continue; that the majority wants judges, magistrates and ministers to be elected; and that they want a government that is in favor of the rights of the people of Mexico to continue. That is why we say that we are not going to betray or defraud, we are going to continue in the territory, in communication with the people and we will fulfill the 100 commitments that we established.”
The head of the Executive stressed that the transformation “began many years ago in the conscience of the people of Mexico and was consolidated with the government of President López Obrador, because in addition to honesty, it gave results, it is honesty that gives results for the benefit of the people. “We are not going to disappoint or betray the trust of the people.”
