Mexico City. After speaking by telephone with the winner of the elections in the United States, Donald Trump, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo is in a meeting with the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, at the National Palace.
The official arrived at the historic site 15 minutes before one in the afternoon. It is expected that the meeting with the president will be related to the dialogue he had with the Republican candidate and future US president.
Minutes before, through her social networks, the Chief Executive indicated that in the phone call with Trump, they talked about the good relationship that will exist between both countries.
Meanwhile, in the morning, after participating in the ANTAD assembly, Ebrard trusted that the Mexican government will have a good relationship with the next Trump administration.
“I am optimistic, because unlike other countries, we are the main partner, so if you impose a tariff it has an impact on the United States. Let me explain, we import things, we integrate many things from the United States and then that goes to the market in the United States, if you put a tariff on the consumer there, they would have to pay more,” he said regarding Trump’s threat to impose tariffs on Mexican exports in case the Sheinbaum government does not contribute further to reducing migratory flows.
