Ichkabal, Q.R., On the eve of the start of discussions on judicial reform in the Senate of the Republic, President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed confidence that these modifications will be approved.
In a very brief interview at the start of the debate in the Constitutional Affairs and Legislative Studies committees, he hinted that there are enough votes for approval in this first stage of the discussion in the upper house.
During his last day of touring the southeast to supervise and inaugurate works associated with the Maya Train project, in the company of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, a handful of opponents of the changes in the judiciary arrived at this archaeological zone of Ichkabal, who only began to chant slogans at the end of the event while López Obrador and Sheinbaum said goodbye to the people.
“If the people are informed, the reform will not pass,” chanted some, while others condemned what they considered the partisanization of justice with these constitutional changes.
In response, another small group of people began chanting in favor of the reform: “It will fall, it will fall, the judiciary will fall.”
“About these protests, doctor, is there any lack of information?” Sheinbaum was asked. In response, she replied: “We will have to see what they want.”
