At a rally held on Friday night in the center of Acapulco, between the boardwalk and the port’s zócalo, the standard bearer of Morena, PT and the Green Party, stated that once she assumes the presidency, she said: “we are going to continue with the reconstruction.” of Acapulco, so that it is even better than before the hurricane (Otis), particularly the drinking water and all public services, and throughout Guerrero.
He recalled that among his projects is expanding the Toluca-Tejupilco-Coyuca-La Unión-Zihuatanejo highway; as well as the Cuautla-Tlapa-Iliatenco road; and the coast from Oaxaca to Zihuatanejo.
He promised more support for the Guerrero countryside and comprehensive development plans.
The candidate of the Let’s Keep Making History coalition was expected since 5 in the afternoon by hundreds of supporters who packed Costera Miguel Alemán Avenue and surrounding streets, in the Traditional area of Acapulco, where it was barely possible to travel on foot or by car.
The Morenista was received in a festive atmosphere shouting “president, president, president!”, around 7 p.m.
He stressed that “Acapulco is not alone, Guerrero is not alone, we are going to continue with the fourth transformation, we are going to make a second floor of the reconstruction,” and exclaimed that “in Guerrero the homeland comes first and the people of Guerrero are proud of the Republic, pride of Mexico.”
The candidate stressed that for the first time a woman will become president of the Republic: “rest assured that we are going to fight for the rights of women, indigenous peoples and Afro-Mexicans, as subjects of rights, and the consultation of the peoples, autonomy and the reconstruction of their culture. “Our project means well-being, democracy and justice,” she declared to cheers of joy and support.
He stated: “let the entire country know, let the world know, Acapulco is standing, thanks to a humanist president who never left it alone,” and stressed that “this June 2 we are going to make the historic, fundamental decision, equivalent to the one we took together six years ago, to say enough is enough to authoritarianism, poverty and inequality.”
He added that “six years later we are going to continue with the transformation.”
The former head of government of Mexico City committed to governing with the principles of Mexican humanism, “because we are humanists we do not leave anyone behind, not only because it is an act of justice, because it has worked.”
He committed to implementing support programs for women over 60 years of age, promoting support programs for preschool, primary and secondary school boys and girls who attend a public school with a monthly scholarship, building more high schools throughout the country, as well as as public universities.
Likewise, strengthen the public health system, the Issste, the IMSS and the new IMSS-Wellbeing model, and the construction of one million homes and a special deed program, for which the Infonavit and Fovissste laws will be modified, to facilitate access to housing.
