Mexico City, From the National Palace, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo assured that “an investigation must be carried out” on the attack this morning at the headquarters of the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI).
He asked to differentiate what happened from the proposal that the previous government proposed to eliminate autonomous organizations. “It is one thing for an institution with which the PRIAN (presidential) candidate (in the last elections, Xóchitl Gálvez) had contracts to disappear, being a senator, plus other things that were found of corruption within the Inai.”
Another very different thing, he maintained, “is that transparency disappears in governments or in all public institutions. “We totally agree that transparency mechanisms continue.”
The issue is, he added, “if we require an institution, the size of Inai, that has allegations of corruption, to be able to continue defending transparency. That is one issue and the other, you must do the investigation “into what happened.”
On the other hand, the president reported that tomorrow the Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado, will meet with the members of the CNTE.
