Sheinbaum asks the INE to review the cost of elections of judges and magistrates

Mexico City. From the National Palace, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo asked the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) to review the cost of the election for judges, magistrates and ministers, by questioning the planned expenditure of 13 billion pesos, when a few months ago seven billion were mentioned.

“If there is not going to be financing for political parties, all that part of a normal election does not come,” he said in the morning of the town.

That the INE review how much the election is going to cost, he demanded. “A respectful call to the councilors to review the cost that, we already said, will come out of the trusts of the Judicial Branch.”

The president said that she is not very familiar with the constitutional controversy filed by a group of electoral advisors to challenge new powers of the president advisor, Guadalupe Taddei.

“I understand that it has to do with the appointment of public servants of the INE, who are unemployed because the councilors cannot agree.”

And the controversy, he added, has to do with the proposal that was made so that the president advisor could make the appointments directly.
