Sheinbaum asks millennials not to ‘chapulinear’ between city governments for COVID vaccines – El Financiero

Claudia Sheinbaum, head of Government, called on adults from 30 to 39 years who will begin to be vaccinated against COVID-19 not seek the injection in a mayor’s office that is not yours.

‘Sputnik V’, the Russian vaccine that has an effectiveness of up to 97.6 percent, is already applied in Azcapotzalco, Benito Juárez, Coyoacán, Miguel Hidalgo, Gustavo A. Madero and Tláhuac since this Tuesday, while the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine began to be injected into Tlalpan.

Asked if the citizens of the capital between 30 and 39 years old can go to another mayor’s office to get vaccinated because they did not like the one designated to their demarcation, Sheinbaum said:

“It is preferable that they do not do so because the number of vaccines, we have a specific batch, so that’s why we divide it into municipalities,” he said.

The official stressed that there is a risk that if this is done, the vaccines designated for each demarcation will end without having inoculated all the people who made their registration.

Sheinbaum remarked that all the COVID-19 vaccines distributed in CDMX fulfill their purpose.

“Sputnik, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinovac: all the vaccines that have been applied cover against severe COVID disease”, He pointed out.

It is expected that between this Tuesday and July 27, more than 900 thousand people between the ages of 30 and 39 who live in CDMX will receive their first dose of the COVID vaccine.
