Mexico City. Eleven minutes before five in the afternoon, President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum arrived at the National Palace where she will meet with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the team from the Ministry of Finance to define, among other things, the public finances for her administration.
The meeting, which will be held behind closed doors in the historic building, will be attended by the Secretary of Finance, Rogelio Ramirez de la O, who was appointed by the next president to remain in office under her administration.
When questioned by reporters awaiting her arrival at the National Palace, the future president avoided giving the names of the members of her team who would be present at this meeting.
Last week, López Obrador announced that this meeting would take place with the aim of defining the budget for the remainder of this year and for 2025, in addition to discussing the fiscal situation, income and public finances.
Upon her arrival, Sheinbaum also did not comment on the impact that the peso’s exchange rate against the dollar suffered today.
