Sheinbaum appoints Paz Nájera as the new head of Inbal

Mexico City, Alejandra de la Paz Nájera was appointed as the new head of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal). She has been director of Plastic Arts of said institute and also served as Technical Secretary in the Coordination of Cultural Diffusion of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), general director of Educational and Cultural Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and production director at the Mexican Radio Institute (IMER).

In diplomacy, she was in charge of the cultural and educational promotion of Mexico in the embassies in London, Washington and in the consulate of Barcelona, ​​and she was also general director of the Franz Mayer Museum and headed the Juan Soriano Morelense Museum of Contemporary Art.

Meanwhile, the anthropologist Diego Prieto Hernández was ratified as director of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), a position he held during the six-year term of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. He was also recognized for his archaeological protection and research work during the Mayan Train work.

On the other hand, the Mexican producer and director Daniela Alatorre Benard was appointed as the new director of the Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE). Alatorre has stood out in the cinematographic field for his work in direction, production, photography and editing of various projects.

Among his best-known productions are Midnight Family (2019), El General (2009), ¡De Panzazo! (2012), The Engineer (2013), the documentary Vivos de Ai Wei Wei (2020), and A Tale of Two Kitchens (2019). He has also made short films such as A 3-minute hug (2019) and Pajareros (2019), as well as two shorts for the NYT Op-docs.
