SHEIN: The Controversial Online Retailer Growing Strongly in Germany and Globally

The current analysis by Similarweb shows that SHEIN, the controversial online retailer for fashion and sporting goods, is growing strongly in Germany and globally.

The app occupies pole position in the shopping category in the German app store. In brand search, SHEIN takes second place with 14 percent share from social networks alone, beating Zara, Bon Prix, C&A and Asos. Omnichannel giant H&M sits in first place with a narrow margin, while NA-KD is a distant last place.

When it comes to visitor growth, the ranking is different: SHEIN, Zara and NA-KD make up the top three in terms of visitor growth. SHEIN has the highest Pay per Click (PPC) spend and the highest Period over Period (PoP) visitor turnover rate.

The results support the Financial Times’ revenue expectations for SHEIN: the online retailer is forecast to grow its revenue to nearly $60 billion by 2025 — more than doubling. That would be more than the current annual sales of retail giants H&M and Zara combined.
