Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi Opens Sharjah Heritage Days in Dibba Al Hisn with Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Muslim

Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler in Kalba, opened the Sharjah Heritage Days in Dibba Al Hisn in the presence of Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Muslim, President of the Sharjah Heritage Institute.

Al-Musallam appreciated the city’s interest in local folklore and its adherence to inherited customs, traditions and crafts in a way that reflects belonging and loyalty. He also envisioned the great national awareness of the importance of local heritage, and the impact of this on its arrival to the world, which looked at it with interest and appreciation.

The opening ceremony witnessed the presentation of a number of performances accompanied by the rhythms of ancient folk songs and chants, in addition to a number of traditional children’s games, and a performance for police dogs. It also included performances by parachutists decorating the sky with the UAE flag and the slogan of the traditional days. The event grounds were characterized by many joyful heritage images, especially the popular market, which included owners of ancient crafts, and depicted important aspects of social life, among others.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ahmed bin Yarouf, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Dibba Al-Hisn, Ahmed Sultan Al-Dhahouri, Vice-President of the Council, and Dr. Khaled Al-Hindassi, Director of the Institute’s branch in Dibba Al-Hisn, and an elite group of attendees from various government departments, visitors, guests and families.
