Sheep stolen in Temple, police warn not to eat them

Several sheep were stolen in the hamlet of Tempel near Reeuwijk last week. Police are warning today not to eat the meat of these sheep because the animals have been given medicine. They were also recently given a strong wormer. Therefore, the mutton may be bad for health, according to the police.

The animals were taken from a meadow on the Tempeldijk, writes Broadcasting West. Some animals drowned, the police add on Facebook. Sheep have been stolen from the same owner before.

It is unclear by whom and why the sheep were taken.

Alderman Knol of the Bodegraven-Reeuwijk municipality also calls on the perpetrators not to eat the sheep. “Report to the police or the owner and make an appointment to return them.”

Police are investigating and are calling on witnesses to come forward.
