While the repercussions of singer Sherine Abdel Wahab’s crisis are still worrying Egyptians, the head of the Syndicate of Music Professions in Egypt, artist Mostafa Kamel, has revealed new details about her detention in a mental health hospital.
Kamel said in his remarks on the sidelines of his meeting with the Actors Syndicate, artist Ashraf Zaki, yesterday, Wednesday, that he received a call from one of his friends who was present with the freed singer Sherine Hossam Habib and gave him said she was kidnapped at gunpoint and was taken against her will to the hospital under a pseudonym.

He specified that he had known what happened to the owner of “Oh, Night” at midnight on Saturday 15 October, specifying that “he immediately spoke with one of the officials of the Ministry of the Interior, who informed him of the situation in detail, explaining that they were aware of the matter five days before it spread. “
The head of the Musicians’ Union went on to say that the security official indicated that the beloved singer had tried to write a report on the incident, but his request was denied because he is not legally part of Sherine’s family.
Kamel added that he felt embarrassed at the time because he too was not one of her family, but still insisted on supporting her as a colleague, friend and captain of musicians.
Sherine’s Crisis
The artist, Sherine Abdel Wahab, raised controversy last week after she was exposed to a major crisis and entered a psychiatric clinic in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
The crisis began with an official communication presented by the Egyptian artist’s lawyer, accusing her brother of severely assaulting her and keeping her in the hospital against her will for the desire to return to her ex-husband, Hossam Habib, who immediately retracted and she abandoned him after learning that her brother had admitted her to a psychiatric hospital to treat the addiction.
For their part, Sherine’s brother and her mother called everyone to save her from her ex-hussam Habib and producer Sarah El-Tabbakh, as they were inciting her to use drugs.
