“She was a special girl,” close, on the fire victim

A Hispanic family in the Bronx suffered an unimaginable tragedy on Thanksgiving, losing two of their members in an apartment building fire.

Two other relatives are hospitalized in critical condition.

The accident occurred in Morris Heights.

Authorities identified the first victim as 20-year-old Odalys Aramboles.

The other deceased is his father, Perfecto Aramboles, 60 years old.

The woman’s mother, Lorenza, remains hospitalized in serious condition together with her daughter Rosanna.

NY1 News spoke to a neighbor who knows the family.

“They start banging, fire, fire, we escaped, but her daughter who lives here also knocked on the door, but she didn’t want to open it, the smoke had made her head spin, she was a special girl… her mother always went down with her , went to school and the man used a walker,” the neighbor said.

Family members said the two victims in hospital are responding well to treatment.

Investigators believe the fire started in a second-floor kitchen. The exact cause is not yet known.
