The British pop star, as recently set world record with the most streamed song in a day, the fans gave more than they had expected when he took the festival stage in California.
Styles promised surprises – and kept the promise.
Of course, his new hit song “As It Was” was on the program, but it is stunted with country queen Shania Twain who is become a talking point in social and traditional media.
Halfway through his show, he picked up Twain and shouted:
– This woman taught me to sing. She also told me that men are rubbish.
Twain responded with:
– I’m a little starstruck, what can I say? No, in fact, I’m obviously a big fan of yours.
Together they performed Twain’s classic from 1997 – «Man! I Feel Like a Woman! ».
– I know that when I wrote this song, you were just a little boy. It’s a dream and very surreal to sit here and sing it with you, the 56-year-old told Styles.
– But I think I’m in love, and this song is about love. So let’s sing about love, she added.
They also performed the ballad “You’re Still The One” as a duet.
Styles also gave the festival audience a taste of two unreleased songs from his upcoming album.
Shania Twain has since tweeted her admiration for Styles:
