A week ago, crowds said goodbye to the eternal princess of Czech film in the church of St. Anežka in Prague’s Spořilov, on Friday a second funeral mass will take place for Libuše Šafránková in her native Šlapanice near Brno.
“The funeral mass for the late Libuše Šafránková will be celebrated on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 6 pm in our church,” said the parish of Šlapanice on Facebook. Then the mourners move to the cemetery by the procession. It is not yet clear whether her husband Josef Abrhám, who is dependent on a wheelchair, will also take part. Šafránková will rest forever in the family grave, where her parents are already.
The parish said the church would open at 5 p.m. “There will be an entrance to the church for a limited number of people, a maximum of 100, the entrance is only possible from Hřbitovní Street, there will be an organizing service at the entrance. Others can watch the broadcast on the screen in the garden behind the church,” specified.
“On behalf of the grieving family, we ask the participants to refrain from taking photographs during the service and subsequent ceremonies,” the parish calls.
The parish made a condolence book available on Wednesday. “Everyone who would like to express their condolences and also gratitude for the life and work of our rare native Libuše Šafránková can use the place of reverence in the lobby of the parish office at Masaryk Square 9 in Šlapanice,” informed.
