The “Queen of Halloween” Heidi Klum revealed her decoration and costume tips for Halloween in an interview.
Whether as a worm, cyborg or peacock: Heidi Klum, 51, surprises the public every year on Halloween with her spectacular costumes. She then presents these at her Halloween festival, which she celebrates every year on October 31st in New York City with family and many celebrity guests. And the “Queen of Halloween” can’t get enough of the spooky, beautiful day. In an interview with the US magazine “People” The presenter has now revealed tips and tricks for the horror festival.
When it comes to decorating her home, which she already has time for, she’s “really into spider webs”: “I love them in and out of the house.” Everything from the chandeliers to the trees are covered in them – “you have to go through a lot of cobwebs in the house. Or when you get to the front door, a ghost starts moving and we have things appearing, hands that “come out of the ground,” says the 51-year-old, describing the eerie decoration.
When it comes to costumes, Halloween fans shouldn’t wait until the last minute to find a suitable look. “I think planning is important,” explains Klum, who prepares her own costumes with her team for months. “I think a lot of people just wait and then think, ‘Oh, it’s Halloween. What am I supposed to do?'” But there are also plenty of options for last-minute options: “We all have a lot of things in the house that you can make something out of. I think that you can find a lot of things in the house, in the basement or in the closet.”
“Just thinking about it makes me claustrophobic.”
Klum has already given little hints about her costume this year. At the beginning of September she gave a first look on Instagram. In a short clip, a round sculpted shape was seen, similar to a tank, with attached tips and two leg holes. On September 17th, a clip followed on her Instagram channel of her being measured by two men in a skin-tight suit and with her hair tied up. “Halloween fitting and taking measurements,” she shared. “Today.com” revealed her look: “He will be out of this world. There will be a lot of prosthetics again. Just thinking about it makes me claustrophobic.”
In 2000, she held her first Halloween party in New York. She immediately knew: “If I’m the host of this party, I have to come up with some unusual costumes and make sure that people are in costume, otherwise they won’t come to the party.” Meanwhile, guests “really enjoy coming up with a fun outfit. I feel like I’ve given them the opportunity to try something out, and I think people love it because they like to play a different role and just like that show their creativity.”
