Lily Collins has promised fans that there will be more diversity in the next season of Emily in Paris. In Netflix’s hit comedy-drama series, the actress plays Emily Cooper, an American who moves to Paris to bring a new perspective to Savoir, a French marketing company. Season two was filmed this year, and in an interview for the December / January 2021 issue of ELLE magazine, she claimed that she and the other producers responded to criticism regarding the low representation of minorities in the first season, which was released in October 2020.
“For me as Emily, but also as a producer, after the first season, hearing the thoughts, the concerns, the questions, the likes, the dislikes of the people, the feelings about her, there were certain things. who spoke in the times we live in, and what is right, moral and correct should be done. (It was) something that excited me. (The producers) all believed in the same things, she said. And I really wanted diversity and inclusion in front of and behind the camera to be something that we really focused on, in a lot of ways. Hiring new people in front of the camera, also giving new stories to different characters, that was really important. “
She also referred to the filming that took place during the Covid-19 pandemic, explaining that all the actors and the team had to comply with numerous health regulations. According to her, there was, however, something very special about filming in the City of Lights while she was idling. “It was very empty when I first arrived.
