That Merel Vercammen (32) from Utrecht would become a successful violinist is actually quite a small miracle. Admittedly, she grew up in a musical family, in Wijchen near Nijmegen, where her mother gave piano lessons at home. Her father also played the piano. Her aunt and uncle played the violin in an amateur orchestra. But little Merel wanted to become an inventor. Or rabbit breeder.
